CURRY'S STORY
Christine’s House honors my mother, an amazing woman with a heart of gold who welcomed and cared for many. Her spirit of love, generosity, and compassion lives on in all we do.
The need for safe housing, reliable care, and need-based programming in our community is greater than ever. Families and individuals face daily crises, with many waiting 5 to 10 years for residential services. Too often, high-risk individuals are placed in hospital beds, retirement homes, or remain at home in unsafe situations. At Christine’s Place, our mission is to provide a safe residential home for 3 to 4 individuals—offering stability, care, and support. While it may not solve the housing crisis, it is a meaningful start, with the vision to expand and serve more families in need as we grow.
Hi, I’m Curry Callaway. I was born in 1978 and raised in Athens, Georgia—a place that shaped my heart and values in the most meaningful ways. Growing up, I watched my mother care for my aunt, who had special needs, right in our home. Through her example, I learned something that’s stayed with me ever since: every person, no matter their challenges, deserves a life filled with laughter, love, learning, acceptance, and respect. That belief became my purpose. I’ve dedicated my life to supporting individuals who need a little extra help to thrive. It’s been a journey of compassion, growth, and deep gratitude. Now, I’m proud to open my own group home—a place built on the values that shaped me, and the love that inspired me from the beginning. This home is more than just a service—it’s a community, a family, and a passion come to life. Welcome to Christine's House!
